Progress Not Perfection – The Mindset of Making Progress and Getting Things Done

Want to get more done, and make your actions both more effective and when appropriate more profitable? Then these two meta strategies should be considered.

Increasing your speed of implementation almost always results in greater success, and in order to improve the speed of implementation you must adopt the strategy of progress not perfection.

Increasing data supports the idea that the first few companies into a niche (if well run) will dominate and take the vast majority of the consumer dollars leaving all the late comers to divide a small remaining fraction of the profits.

This is true generally with brands and types of consumer goods and services. Vanilla and chocolate flavored ice cream makes up a huge percentage of all ice cream consumed. Add strawberry and the vast majority of ice cream orders are covered. All the remain flavors make up only a tiny percentage of sales.

Pepsi (R) and Coke (R)?

So make this natural law work for you.

How do you do it?

Schedule delivery of new advertising, marketing, or projects in a shorter term than you ever thought possible. Then, assemble a team of real or virtual assistants to do research, layout, or other tasks that are your weak points so that you can play to your strengths and oversee the project. Then, get it out there. Adjust based on feedback and improve as you go.
